Mashael Albasman's father charged with her murder

The father of a Kuwaiti student found stabbed to death in Dorset, has been charged with her murder.

The body of Mashael Albasman, 25, was discovered on Sunday in a first-floor property on St Michael's Road, Bournemouth.

Faleh Ghazi Albasman, who remains in police custody, is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on Friday.

The 58-year-old Kuwaiti national was staying with his daughter in the flat they shared at the time of her death.

Det Insp Stewart Balmer, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: "This is a tragic incident for Mashael's family and on behalf of Dorset Police I wish to extend my sincere condolences and sympathy to her family.

"The family reside in Kuwait and a Dorset Police family liaison officer, working in conjunction with the Kuwaiti Embassy and international liaison officers from the National Crime Agency, is supporting the family and keeping them informed and updated."
