Weymouth Lib Dem councillor Ryan Hope rape trial begins
The trial of a Dorset councillor accused of several sexual offences against a child has heard his alleged victim "once kneed him in the head to get him off me".
Weymouth and Portland councillor Ryan Hope, 22, was suspended from the Liberal Democrat party in January.
He denies all nine charges, including the rape and sexual assault of a child under 13.
The alleged offences are said to have taken place between 2004 and 2011.
A video of a police interview was played to Bournemouth Crown Court in which the alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, described how Mr Hope made him watch pornography and assaulted him.
He told officers he told Mr Hope "get off me, leave me alone" and added, "I once kneed him in the head to get him off me".
The court also heard Mr Hope once drove him to a remote location between Weymouth and Chickerell and "pulled his trackies down" and tried to touch him.
The prosecution told the court the alleged victim had not spoken to anyone at the time of the alleged offences because he was scared his mother and others would not believe him because Mr Hope was a local councillor, and that people would think he was stupid.
The trial continues.
