Motorcyclist dies on Beaminster Tunnel road

A motorcyclist has died after losing control of his bike at the entrance of a road tunnel in Dorset.

The 65-year-old man, from Wincanton, was approaching the north side of Beaminster Tunnel on Sunday morning when he struck the parapet. He died at the scene.

Dorset Police are appealing for anyone who saw the green Honda before the crash at 10:15 GMT to get in touch.

The man's family has been informed of his death.

The road was closed for several hours following the crash while investigations took place.
