Cyclist killed in Dorchester A37 crash

A cyclist has been killed in a crash with a car in Dorchester.

The collision between the cyclist and a Ford Fiesta happened at 14:12 GMT on the A37 Dorchester bypass between the Weir and Monkeys Jump roundabouts.

The 55-year-old cyclist, from Dorchester, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 75-year-old woman also from Dorchester, was not injured.

The A37 remained closed while investigators examined the scene.

The victim's next of kin have been informed and the coroner has been notified.
