A 12-year-old girl is among three people with potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash outside a school near Shaftesbury.

Four vehicles were involved in the crash outside Port Regis School, Motcombe, just after 08:30 BST.

The girl, a woman in her 40s and a man were all taken to hospital by air ambulance, police said.

A second girl, also 12, suffered serious injuries and was also taken to hospital.

The children involved were not pupils at the private school, which is currently closed for the holidays, a spokeswoman said.

Police closed the road for more than seven hours following the crash. It has since reopened.
