Fire crews tackle Tincleton thatch fire
More than 70 firefighters tackled a fire in the roof of a two-storey thatched house in a Dorset village.
Twelve fire appliances were called to Waterloo Lane in Tincleton, near Dorchester, after the fire broke out at 22:00 BST on Tuesday .
Crews stopped the fire, which was extinguished after three hours, by making breaks in the thatch.
All roads into the into the village were closed overnight but have since re-opened.
Dorset Fire and Rescue said the occupants of the cottage escaped unhurt.
The service said an investigation is being carried out to discover how the fire started.
