Woman seriously injured in Bournemouth 'assault'

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a woman was found with serious head injuries in Bournemouth.

Police were called after the woman was found at a property in Clarence Park Road shortly after 20:00 BST on Monday.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was taken to hospital where her injuries are described as "life-threatening", Dorset Police said.

A 36-year-old man from Bournemouth remains in police custody.

A cordon has been put in place in Clarence Park Road while investigators examine the scene and house-to-house inquiries take place.
