Bournemouth man arrested after Kinson stabbing

A man has been arrested after a stabbing sparked a police manhunt.

The victim, in his 30s, was stabbed in the leg in the Kinson area of Bournemouth at lunchtime on Saturday.

Ambulance crews called police to the property in Wavell Road, with armed response officers and the police helicopter searching for the suspect.

A 38-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm at about 21:30 BST and remains in police custody.

Dorset Police said the victim's injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

The arrested man and the victim were known to each other, it added.

Det Con Aston Starkie of Bournemouth CID appealed for witnesses to come forward.

"We need to establish exactly what happened at Wavell Road at Saturday lunchtime.

"Did you see two men arguing or fighting? Alternatively, did you see the suspect leaving the area - potentially on a pedal cycle - or the victim looking for help?"
