Woman punched in Bournemouth religiously-aggravated assault
A man who punched a Turkish woman in the face in a religiously-aggravated assault in Bournemouth is being hunted by police.
The young woman was on Charminster Road on Saturday at 02:20 BST when a man with a Scottish accent approached her.
The man then made a religious slur and punched her.
He is described as being in his 40s, stocky, and wearing a grey tracksuit and grey hoodie with the hood up.
The woman suffered bruising to her head, but did not require hospital treatment.
Deputy neighbourhood inspector Jonathan Wasey said: "This was a vicious and unprovoked attack on a young woman as she walked alone.
"Racially motivated incidents such as this have no place in our community and they will simply not be tolerated. A full investigation is under way to find the offender."
