Teenager stabbed in group attack in Basildon

A teenager is in hospital after being stabbed during a row with a group of men in Basildon, Essex.

The 17-year-old boy, from London, was attacked in Rochester Way, after he was surrounded by a group of up to 10 men, on Monday afternoon.

During an altercation with the group the victim received four wounds to an arm and his chest.

He is currently in a stable condition in hospital. Police are seeking information on the group of men.

They were aged between 16 and their mid 20s.

Before the attack the victim had been a shop in nearby Norwich Walk.

Detectives are anxious to trace a woman and a man with a dog who had been in the shop at the same time as the victim.
