Man robbed at knifepoint by gang in Essex

A man had a knife held to his throat during a robbery by a group in Essex.

The victim, who is 30, was followed on foot by three men into Corringham Park in Gordon Road, Corringham, on Monday night.

A knife was held to the man's throat and keys and a three-figure sum of cash stolen. All three men made off in a silver Toyota Celica.

They are described as aged 20 to 25. The man with the knife is skinny and was wearing round-rimmed glasses.

He was wearing a baseball cap and is believed to be about 5ft 7in.

A second man was armed with a hammer and smashed the windscreen of a car parked nearby as he chased the victim before the robbery.

He is described as medium build, 6ft (1.83m) and was wearing an off-white T-shirt, blue jeans and a grey hat.

Police said there is no specific description of the third man, who also had a knife.
