Furniture 'fuels' warehouse fire in Chelmsford

A fire at a row of warehouses in Essex was made more severe by flammable materials stored inside, the fire service has said.

More than 60 firefighters were called to Duke Park Estate, in Chelmsford, on Monday night.

The fire is believed to have started in a furniture manufacturers full of flammable material which fuelled the flames, the fire service said.

The fire was put out by 2320 BST and an inquiry into the cause is due to begin.

An air conditioning company and an MoT centre were also affected.
