Australian biker killed in taxi crash in Essex named

A 28-year-old motorcyclist who died in a crash in Essex has been named as an Australian who was staying locally with family.

Sascha Brand died when his bike collided with a taxi travelling on the B1393 at Thornwood Common, near Epping, on Monday.

Police said he had been living with relatives at Parsonage Leys, Harlow.

The driver of the taxi, which was travelling in the opposite direction, was treated for shock.

The crash between the red Skoda Octavia and Mr Brand's red Honda motorbike happened at about 0815 GMT.

Witnesses were asked to contact Essex Police.
