A 42-year-old man has been charged with making a hoax telephone call to police following a claim a bomb had been left in a pub in Essex.

Police arrested a man in Moulsham Street, Chelmsford, just minutes after the call was made at 2300 BST on Monday, a spokesman said.

The man, from Chelmsford, was charged with making a bomb hoax by communicating false information.
