Daws Heath wife killer committed suicide, coroner rules

A coroner has recorded a verdict of unlawful killing in the case of an Essex woman whose husband stabbed her before committing suicide.

Matthew Foakes's body was found hanged at a building site in Clifftown Road, Southend, in November.

Southend Coroners' Court heard his wife Mandy, 46, was found dead a day later, at their home in Bramble Road, Daws Heath, after being fatally stabbed.

Coroner, Dr PJ Dean, recorded a verdict of suicide on Mr Foakes, 45.

A note was found on Mr Foakes's body that said he could not go on living without his wife, the inquest heard.

The couple leave two daughters and a son.
