Ingatestone man pleads guilty over cyclist crash

A man from Essex has admitted causing grievous bodily harm after the van he was driving crashed into a cyclist.

Benjamin Lowe, 20, of Stock Lane, Ingatestone, also admitted charges of dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking and driving without insurance.

A 17-year-old girl from Surrey was acquitted of grievous bodily harm and aggravated vehicle taking at Basildon Crown Court.

Andrew Horner, 35, was seriously injured in crash on 28 February 2010.

The crash happened in Station Lane, Ingatestone.

The white Transit Mr Lowe, from Brentwood, was driving did not stop and was found abandoned further down on Station Lane.

Mr Lowe has been remanded in custody to await sentence at a date yet to be fixed.
