Car roll injury in Essex was 'an accident', say police

An incident in which a 27-year-old man was injured when a car rolled down a hillside in Essex is thought to have been an accident, police have said.

The man was lying in a field near Writtle College, Lordship Road, Writtle, on Saturday morning when he was hit by the car.

He was taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford.

He is being treated for a fractured vertebra and serious cut to his head. Any witnesses should call Essex Police.
