Southend man repeatedly stabbed after night out

A man has been repeatedly stabbed during a gang attack following a night out in Essex.

The 22-year-old victim was walking home in Southend in the early morning of Saturday when he was assaulted by three men next to Chalkwell Park.

He was stabbed in the ribs, shoulder, arms and back before managing to break free and run off.

Essex Police called it a vicious attack and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Pc Trevor Phillips, from Essex Police, said: "This was an unprovoked and vicious attack.

"Fortunately no organs were damaged but the victim was kept in hospital overnight for treatment.

"The victim noticed a few cars drive by along London Road, during the incident so we are obviously keen to speak to those drivers."
