Essex arrest over 'Goldilocks' burglaries

A 19-year-old man has been arrested by police in Essex looking for a burglar dubbed "Goldilocks" because he slept in his victims' beds.

Officers came up with the nickname because on two occasions, at a house in Sevenacres, beds were slept in and food was eaten before goods were stolen.

The man from South Woodham Ferrers is being held on suspicion of assault, criminal damage, robbery and burglary.

He was arrested on Wednesday morning in Wickford, police said.

Det Insp Simon Anslow said: "I would like to thank members of the public and the media for their assistance in this inquiry."
