The family of an Essex woman missing for more than seven years will take part in a fresh appeal for information.

Mother-of-four Sandra Gant, 48, of Wellesley Road, Clacton, went for a drink at a flat in the town on 15 November 2003 and was not seen again.

Essex Police believe she was murdered, and officers continue to investigate.

Crimestoppers volunteers and family members will distribute leaflets on Thursday in Clacton town centre appealing for information.

The charity Crimestoppers has set a £1,000 reward for information leading the arrest and charge of those responsible for her murder.

They hope the event will lead to information on Ms Gant's disappearance while highlighting the anonymity Crimestoppers guarantees and its reward system.

Ms Gant was was last seen by her family on 14 November 2003. She disappeared the next day after she and two friends went for a drink at an address with a man they had just met.
