Chelmsford 'hit-and-run': Essex Police make two arrests

Two men have been arrested after a woman was found with serious injuries in an apparent hit-and-run in Essex.

The 28-year-old woman, from Grays, was found at about 0140 BST in Victoria Road, Chelmsford, with a number of injuries, including leg wounds.

She is in a stable condition at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.

A 26-year-old from Basildon and a 27-year-old from Chelmsford were arrested on suspicion of offences including failing to stop and dangerous driving.

They have been arrested on police bail to return on 25 July pending further inquiries.

Essex Police are still investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing for anyone who was in the area and has information to contact their Serious Crash Investigation Unit.
