A120 between Stansted and Dunmow reopens after crash

An Essex road has reopened after a collision in which a lorry driver from Birmingham was killed.

The 59-year-old died when his vehicle crashed through a central reservation on the A120 between Stansted Airport and the Dunmow turn-off, on Wednesday.

It is believed the lorry driver was taken ill at the wheel.

The central reservation and road surface were damaged by diesel from the lorry and repair work closed the eastbound carriageway until 0400 BST.

The incident happened at about 0920 BST on Wednesday, closing both carriageways until 1230 BST.

The driver died at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Essex Police is appealing for information about the crash and asking witnesses to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
