A man has died after a fight with several other men outside a bar in Essex.

Police were called in the early hours of Sunday to the incident outside Churchill's Bar in Tylers Avenue, Southend.

Reece Lamude, 37, who was from the Rayleigh area, was taken to Southend General Hospital but died a short time later.

Four men have been arrested and are being questioned by detectives.

A post-mortem examination showed that Mr Lamude suffered neck injuries but further investigations and forensic tests are continuing in an effort to establish the cause of death.

His family said in a statement: "He was a loving father, son, brother and fiancé. He was out celebrating a friend's birthday.

"His life with his fiancé was just beginning. He was a fantastic father and it is ironic how he was lost on Father's Day."
