Southend knife attack: Man wanted by Essex Police

Police in Essex have said they are looking for a 23-year-old man in connection to what they said was an unprovoked knife attack in Southend.

Officers want to speak to Mark Cane about the incident in which three men forced their way into a house in Maldon Road and attacked two men inside.

His last known address was Dunster Avenue, Westcliff, and is known to visit Southend High Street regularly.

Mr Cane is 5ft 11in (1.8m) tall and slim with short, light brown hair.

He has blue eyes, is normally clean shaven and speaks with a London accent.

The attack happened just before 1400 BST on 10 April when the group forced their way into the house and tried to stab one of the occupants.

The man fought back but was not seriously hurt.

The attackers then left, damaging the front door on the way out.

Police are asking anyone who knows of Mr Cane's whereabouts to contact Pc Mark Routh or Pc Steve Needham at Southend Police or Crimestoppers.
