Man charged over five-car fatal collision in Southend

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and three counts of grievous bodily harm after a fatal crash in Essex.

The collision involving five cars took place on 15 September 2010 in Sutton Road, Southend.

Linda Brooks, 68, from Hockley, died in hospital after the crash and serious injuries were sustained by several other people, including a two-year-old.

The 56-year-old man from Rayleigh has been bailed until 3 August.

He will then appear before Southend magistrates.
