Fatal Epping hit-and-run Toyota appeal

Police investigating the death of a man in a hit-and-run road crash in Essex are appealing for help to trace a Toyota vehicle.

Officers were contacted by the ambulance service at 06:30 BST on Saturday following reports that a body was lying on Epping High Road, Epping.

They arrived to find the body of a 34-year-old man from Loughton, Essex.

Police forensic examination of the scene has found a large Toyota vehicle was involved in the hit-and-run.

It has grey trim and chrome wing mirrors and passenger-side damage to it, said a police spokesman.

"We're keen to speak to the driver of this Toyota or anyone who knows of a model which has crash damage to it and which has sustained this damage since the early hours of Saturday morning," the spokesman added.

"We continue to appeal to any motorists who were using High Road after midnight to contact us so that we can pinpoint the exact time as to when this collision happened."
