Fatal Epping hit-and-run: Man, 51, arrested

A man has been arrested by police investigating the death of a man in a hit-and-run road crash in Essex.

Officers were contacted by the ambulance service on Saturday morning after reports that a body had been found on Epping High Road, Epping.

They arrived to find the body of a 34-year-old man from Loughton, Essex.

A 51-year-old man from east London was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

He has been released on bail until 6 November pending further inquiries. A Toyota Hilux has been recovered by police.
