Man stable after minibus crash near Colchester

A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a minibus in Essex.

The man in his 20s and from Clacton was hit on the eastbound carriageway of the A133 at Wivenhoe Park Corner, near Colchester, at 03:10 BST.

He received head and other injuries and is in a serious but stable condition in hospital, police said.

The driver and passengers of the blue Ford Transit minibus were shaken but unhurt. The road was closed until about 07:25 BST.

Anyone with information about the crash has been asked to contact Essex Police.
