Men sought after girl, 15, raped in Southend

A group of men police want to track down after a Southend girl was raped are believed to have travelled to Essex from a nearby county, police have said.

The 15-year-old girl was attacked by several men behind Adventure Island off Marine Parade in the town at 22:30 BST on 8 April.

The two men that took part in the attack were part of a group from either London, Kent, Suffolk or Hertfordshire.

Police have released CCTV images of a group they would like to speak to.

The first man is described as white and has black hair. At the time, he was wearing beige shorts, a blue polo shirt and white Vans trainers.

The second man has blonde or brown hair and was wearing a pink polo shirt. Both are aged in their mid to late teens.

Senior Investigating Officer Det Insp Colin Norton said: "These two boys were with a group of around 20 other young people who we think started out on the arcade side of the road, but then crossed over to the beach.

"We think they travelled into Southend for the night and then returned to either London, Kent, Suffolk or Hertfordshire.

"The girl spoke to several people before and after the assault took place and we're confident that those people will be able to help us."

Anyone with information should contact Essex Police.
