Five injured as school bus crashes in Essex

Four children and a 25-year-old man have been injured in a collision involving a school bus and a car that caught fire in Essex.

The crash happened at about 16:30 GMT on the A120 at Great Bromley, near Colchester.

The man and four children who were on the double-decker bus suffered neck pain while the man also suffered shock.

The bus had about 30 children on board and they were assessed at the scene.

Three of the children have been placed in neck collars.

All of the casualties were taken to Colchester General Hospital for further checks and treatment, the East of England Ambulance Service said.

The bus, which was travelling from Colchester to Harwich, collected pupils from a number of schools included St Benedict's, St Mary's and the Grammar School for Girls and the Grammar School for Boys in Colchester.
