Clacton stabbing: Eleventh person arrested

An eleventh person has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a man outside an Essex off-licence.

Liam Mearns, 21, was found bleeding in Wellesley Road, Clacton, at 22:00 GMT on Tuesday. He died shortly afterwards.

Police said a 15-year-old boy had been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with the death.

Detectives were given more time on Thursday to question the 10 people arrested over the stabbing.

Nine have been arrested on suspicion of murder and one man on suspicion of violent disorder. All 11 suspects are being held in custody.

Police said a post-mortem examination showed that Mr Mearns, also from Clacton, died from a stab wound to the chest.
