Aircraft crashes after take-off from Essex airfield

A four-seater light aircraft with two people on board crash-landed shortly after take-off from an Essex airfield.

Ambulance crews were called to Andrewsfield Aerodrome in Stebbing near Dunmow but no-one was seriously hurt, East of England Ambulance Service said.

"We believe the aircraft got in to difficulties whilst taking off [and] it crash-landed," a spokesman said.

Firefighters confirmed that the incident involved a GA-7 Cougar aircraft with two people on board.

The incident was over by 13:00 GMT after fire crews inspected the plane to make sure there was no danger.
