Two bodies found in neighbouring Braintree houses

The bodies of two men have been found in neighbouring houses in an Essex street.

Police were called to Eagle Lane in Braintree on Sunday afternoon where they found the bodies of the men, one of whom was named as Alan Taylor, 59.

The second victim has been named by police as Richard Wight, 55, ahead of formal identification.

This is expected to take place within 48 hours and both deaths are being treated as suspicious, police said.

A police spokesman said they were trying to establish the sequence of events that led to their deaths.

Post-mortem examinations are expected to be carried out later.
