Thomas Brittain stabbing: Colchester police arrest man

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murdering a musician in Essex.

Jack Hummerstone, 18, was arrested by police investigating the death of Thomas Brittain, 26, who was stabbed to death in Colchester in March.

He was arrested at a property in Errol Street, Islington, London, at 03:00 BST on Sunday and will be taken to Essex for questioning.

A 22-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Mr Brittain was killed at a friend's flat in Parkside Quarter, Colchester, in the early hours of 9 March.

Andre Vella, 19, from Village Close, Kirby Cross, near Frinton, appeared before Chelmsford Crown Court on 14 March charged with Mr Brittain's murder and was remanded in custody.
