Daniel Eyre cleared of Southend alleyway rape

A man accused of raping a woman in an Essex alleyway has been cleared by a jury.

Daniel Eyre, 18, of Blyth Avenue in Shoebury, had denied attacking a young woman in Southend last September.

A court heard the alleged incident happened off Clarence Street in Southend during the early hours of a Saturday morning.

Mr Eyre was found not guilty by the trial jury which sat at Basildon Crown Court.
