Westcliff stabbing: Teenager sought by police

Eric Brophy Police have appealed for Eric Brophy to hand himself in at a police station

Police investigating the stabbing of a man in Essex have appealed for information about the whereabouts of a teenager they wish to speak to.

A 20-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries in the attack in Fairfax Drive, Westcliff, on Thursday.

Officers want to speak to Eric Brophy, 18, who has links to the Southend and Dagenham areas.

Police said members of the public should not approach Mr Brophy and should telephone 999 if they see him.

Officers are continuing to question another 18-year-old man arrested on Friday.

The 20-year-old victim is in a stable condition in hospital.
