Lorry crashes and kills pedestrian on M11 in Essex

An 18-year-old pedestrian has died after being struck by a lorry on a motorway in Essex.

Police said the man was hit between junctions eight and nine of the southbound M11, near Saffron Walden, at just after 22:00 BST on Monday.

The carriageway was shut for about five hours while forensic teams investigated the scene and tried to establish what happened.

Witnesses have been asked to contact police.
