Langdon Hills toddler death investigated by police

Police are investigating the death of a two-year-old boy who was found face down in a family swimming pool.

An inquest into the death of Teddie Rainger in Basildon was opened and adjourned in Chelmsford on Tuesday.

After he was found in the pool at Old Hill Avenue in Langdon Hills, he was taken to Basildon Hospital where he died on 23 July.

A police spokeswoman said the death was not suspicious but inquiries were ongoing.

A full inquest hearing will be held at a later date.
