Southend stabbing: Victim named as John Anker

An 84-year-old man, who died from knife wounds after an attack in a house in Essex, has been named by detectives.

John Anker was found in a property on Burr Hill Chase, Southend, at about 14:00 GMT on Thursday.

A woman, also in her 80s, was treated at the scene for stab wounds and taken to hospital.

Police are still questioning a man, who is aged 34 and from Southend, who was arrested on suspicion of murder the same day.
