A major road interchange has been closed in south Essex due to flooding.

Rain has left the Fairglen roundabout on the A127/A1245 at Rayleigh under water, while some parts of Battlesbridge were also under water.

Motorists faced lengthy delays in both directions on the Southend Arterial Road and congestion on the A130 between Rettendon Turnpike and Prospect Road.

The Environment Agency has issued several flood alerts and warnings for rivers, including the Crouch and Wid.

Roads in Stock, Buttsbury Wash and Ingatestone were also affected.
