A car sun roof was smashed after an object was dropped from a motorway bridge, police say.

The black Volkswagen Golf was struck around 17:15 GMT on Tuesday when an item was thrown from a bridge at junction seven of the M11 in Essex.

The female driver involved, from Norfolk, had been travelling northbound at Harlow. She was not injured.

Essex Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time.
