Honda driver hurt near Basildon in car-jacking

A woman has been seriously injured after "clinging" onto her car as a thief drove away in it.

She had stopped her grey Honda CR-V car in Curling Tye near Basildon after a man waved her down claiming there was something in the road.

But when she got out to have a look at about 14:30 GMT, he jumped into the driver's seat.

A spokesman for Essex Police said the woman was thrown from the car and is currently at Basildon Hospital.

Police say the man was dressed in a dark hooded top and dark bottoms.
