Clacton woman injured as BMW car crashes into home

Essex Police and ambulance crews were called to the accident at just before noon at Washford Gardens, Clacton. A woman in her 70s was taken to hospital after a BMW crashed into with her Essex home

A woman in her 70s was seriously injured when a BMW car crashed into her home in Essex.

Essex Police and ambulance crews were called to Washford Gardens, Clacton just before 12:00 BST.

A police spokesman said the woman suffered a serious leg injury but it was not thought to be life-threatening.

He said the driver of the grey BMW 320, who appeared to have lost control of his car, was not injured.

The woman was taken to hospital.

Firefighters were called to make the building safe.
