Epping High Street stabbing suspect bailed

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a knife attack in Essex has been released on bail.

The victim was stabbed in the chest and found collapsed in Epping High Street on Saturday about 04:25 BST.

He was taken to the Royal London Hospital where, following surgery, he is improving and remains in a critical but stable condition.

The arrested man is due to report back to police on 22 October.

He is from Hackney in London and had been questioned at Harlow police station.

A 25-year-old man also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder remains in police custody for questioning.

Police have asked for anyone with information to contact them.
