Man arrested in Stansted Airport car alert

A man has been arrested after a car was driven into a security barrier outside Stansted Airport.

Police said a green Ford Fiesta hit the barrier outside Enterprise House in Thremhall Avenue at about 16:30 GMT.

A 21-year-old man from Enfield, north London, was arrested on suspicion of public order offences.

He is currently in custody at the police station at the airport. Flights have not been affected, but trains are not stopping at the station.

Essex Police said: "Police are treating the incident as suspicious and enquiries are continuing."
