Suspected runaway thief found by police in Waltham Abbey

A man who allegedly ran off from police when they handcuffed him and tried to put him in a car has been found.

Daniel Rogers, 22, was arrested on 13 August on suspicion of theft but allegedly made off from officers as he was being put into a police car.

Essex Police said he was found in Waltham Abbey on Monday.

He has been charged with seven offences and will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court later.

The charges against him include three counts of theft, two counts of fraud by false representation, vehicle interference and escaping from lawful custody.
