Disabled woman hurt in hit-and-run in Bishops Cleeve

A disabled woman has been injured in a hit-and-run incident in Gloucestershire.

The 26-year-old was hit by a large, dark-coloured car with a long bonnet after getting off a bus in Bishops Drive, Bishops Cleeve.

Police said the woman was crossing the road near the junction with Two Hedges Road at about 0945 BST on Thursday when the incident happened.

The driver stopped briefly, but did not give any details before leaving.

The woman was thrown onto the bonnet, then onto the ground.

She suffered injuries to her right ankle, knee and thigh, and was very shaken, although she did not need hospital treatment.

The driver was described as a balding white man, aged in his 50s.

Gloucestershire Police would like the man or anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

They would also like to speak with a woman who drove a light blue car around his vehicle immediately after the collision.
