Biker dies in crash in Cotswolds

A motorcyclist died when the machine he was riding collided with a car on the A429 in Gloucestershire.

The 69-year-old, who lived in Kings Stanley, was travelling towards Cirencester on Saturday afternoon when the accident happened.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said the biker was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car driver, a 73-year-old man from Stratford-upon-Avon and his passenger, a 73-year-old woman, were uninjured.

"Witnesses to the incident which happened at approximately 1.50pm on Saturday involving a blue Suzuki motorcycle, travelling towards Cirencester, and a silver Toyota Previa, travelling in the direction of Northleach, are asked to contact police," a force spokesman said.

The motorcyclist's next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
