Gloucester sex attacker claimed to be undercover police

A 16-year-old girl from Gloucester has been subjected to a serious sexual assault by a man falsely claiming to be an undercover police officer.

The victim had been arguing with a female friend late on Saturday night in Clarence Street, before walking off.

A police spokesman said she was approached by the man in Brunswick Road and they walked through Gloucester Park before he assaulted her in Weston Road.

The offender is described as white, in his 30s and about 5ft 9in tall.

He was clean-shaven, wearing dark clothes and had a large bunch of silver keys attached to his waist.

A police spokesman said: "Anyone who was in the area between 11.30pm on Saturday and 12.05am on Sunday should contact police or Crimestoppers."
