A CCTV image of a "brazen" thief driving from a cemetery in a forklift truck has been released by police.

The large blue and white machine, worth about £40,000, was stolen from a work site at Coney Hill Cemetery in Gloucester on 15 January.

Gloucestershire Police said the thief was wearing a florescent long sleeved coat and a white hard hat.

Pc Laura Meacham, the investigating officer, said: "The audacity of this man is amazing."

She added: "He even had the truck light on and flashing as he drove off.

"If you recall seeing him, call us."

The truck is described as a Telescopic Genie model.
